The royal College of Nurses has reported that its members are under constant pressure as there is a huge staff shortage and the patient’s care is being compromised. The NHS trust that runs some of the best hospitals have talked about the challenges of recruiting nursing staff, who are in demand across the NHS.
Victoria Rankin, workforce director at SaTH said that they are making efforts to recruit the permanent nursing staff, to minimize the need to use agency staff. She also said that there is a constant and huge shortage of nursing staff across the NHS. To round up the figure, there are presently more than 40,000 nursing vacancies across the country.
