Such increased needs make your contribution to healthcare and the importance of your specialty more important.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Aging Workforce and Patient Population<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What adds further complexity to the nursing shortage is demographic shift. Many nurses have years of experience and will reach retirement age in the very near future, combined with a greater number of older patients who are typically more in need of health services.
